Looking for help finding the location of a place called Scott's Lane in Kingstown as per the 1901 census. I assume it may be renamed in current Dun Laoghaire but I'd like to know its current name

I found a reference to Scott's Lane Glasthule, which was situated where the car park is now.

The historical maps on www.myplan.ie can be very useful. Also you could check the local history department of your local library they may have records such as the enumerators notes for the census. The Notes made by the OS when they were surveying may also be useful. And there may be rates records from the local authority there.

The only car park in Glasthule is on the main road, almost opposite Link rd.

Scott's Lane was very small -about 6/7 houses-very few families appear on the 1901 and 1911.Although in the censues it doesn't appear on any of the historical maps which one can see on osi.ie

Don't ask me why I find such enquiries fascinating
