Hiya all,
My wife is considering taking voluntray redundancy.
She has worked in the company for the last 11 years and would receive a decent lump sum.
Our thinking is that she could stay at home and mind our 5 month old baby for the next few years rather than dealing with creches etc..
An then hopefully go back to part time employment.

Can someone tell me what entitlements she would have as a housewife.
ie: child allowance ,Tax, claiming back her prsi stamps etc ,Dole

Or are we just left to fend for ourselves ?

R..

In relation to Jobseeker's Payments, she will only be eligible to sign on and claim benefits if she's available for and seeking full-time work. She may be able to claim homemaker credits which will keep her PRSI record up to date for later in life.

can definitely claim Homemaker's credits - we did that a few years ago. You can claim them until youngest child is 12yrs (I think). Definitely worth checking them out.

Hiya and thx for replying...
So She can claim Homemakers credits even if it is her own child she is minding?
Or is this a stupid question?
