Vodafone upgrade

Hi, I'm due an upgrade with vodaphone and am eligible for iPhone 13. My daughter wants it for herself. She is currently Tesco pay as you go. Will her Sim work in the new vodaphone iPhone automatically or will I need to get it unlocked or her switch to vodaphone bill pay on it or how does it work?? Thanks in advance

To get an upgrade, you will need to sign up for a new contract term, so your handset would be linked to vodafone for the contract term. If you already have a usable handset you can take the upgrade for the contract term but you would need to switch your daughter's number to vodafone PAYG to use the handset.
