UK registrar wont accept Irish Probate

am executor of uncle's estate and have been granted probate.most matters dealt with ok.there are a small number(200 shares from a demutalisation some years ago). of shares of around 600 euro value. correspondense with uk registrar has indicated that irish grant of probate is not acceptable, and registration of death etc. (to allow me to sell shares and distribute to beneficiaries) will only be undertaken when i forward UK grant of probate(which i dont have!). any suggestions as to how i might resolve this without spending a multiple of the 600euro on uk legal fees etc.?
 
how about transferring into the name of 'the reps of the late' and then have the estate sell them.
