Tracker mortgage and Release Equity Loan

I have a tracker mortgage with BOI. I am getting an extension done and was looking at all the options. Rather than a personal loan, I was looking at a release equity loan which seems very reasonable. But I was wondering would you lose your tracker mortgage if you decided to go down the release equity route ?
