Tax back on partial year worked

Hi there,

Myself and my boyfriend ate planning on leaving the country next July- sept. for a year or so.

Trying to judge the impact of exact leaving dates on tax back, if we earn more than the threshold. Are we better to leave in July and get more tax back or stay and earn money but pay bills and receive less tax back?

I earn 38,100
My boyfriend is on 55, 000
