Just a piece of advice and for free.
If any Irish citizen spends more than 182 days in a calendar year in Spain he/she is expected to pay tax on all world earnings in Spain. Your expenses on the property rented may not be allowed against profit.
If you intend renting out your Irish property indefinitely you could do worse than spending 182 days in Spain and another 182 days of the same calendar year in Cyprus. It is not illegal to do so, but you would be subject to tax in Ireland still.
However, if you wish to get legal advice at a cost in Spain (which changes every year) you could do worse than contact an English speaking Spanish solicitor e.g. Angela Morales in Mojacar Playa.
