Abstract: This paper examines funding patterns for the Irish banking system during the 2003-2008 pre-crisis period. The mechanics of funding the rapid growth in credit during this period is important in understanding the driving forces behind the boom, while the tightening in funding conditions during 2007-2008 was a contributory factor to the onset of the crisis. We examine a range of datasets to uncover the roles of different funding sources and identify similarities and differences across the individual banks.

Who are THE STATISTICAL AND SOCIAL INQUIRY SOCIETY OF IRELAND when they are at home?

It's a very old body of mainly economists and statisticians. I have been to an occasional paper, and they have been very good.
