Hi,

I saw an ad in a newspaper yesterday about checking the electoral register for the referendum later this year. My elderly relative is in a nursing home and could vote if on the Special Voters List due to disability. I have the relevant form to complete and post to the local council. My understanding is that on polling day, a presiding officer and a Garda go to the nursing home to take the vote. I am sure they would be patient and considerate, I just wouldn't want relative to get all stressed up and anxious about it. On the other hand, maybe he/she would love all the fuss too.
I just wonder has anyone been through the procedure and the voting with a relative in this situation?
