Mods, please move this if theres a better forum, I couldn't see one.
My gf is under 23, has lived here since April 2007, completed two years in a three year undergraduate degree. To date she hasn't qualified for a maintenance grants for a number of reasons (none financial of course), but now it seems that the only stumbling grant left for next year is that her parents don't reside here. Can anyone confirm or deny this as it seems discrimination against EU nationals and I can't see the logic in it (apart from proof of income, but lets face it the grant system doesn't really measure Irish incomes accurately historically anyway).
