Small Sterling Cheques

Hi,

I am in receipt of small UK pension and also some dividend Chqs in sterling. My bank insists on lodging them to my Euro current account at their rate and then transferring them back to me in sterling cash at their rate!! I prefer to open a Sterling savings account for times I visit UK but they insist on an account maintenance charge to hold my Sterling account......any suggestions?

I have a sterling account with NIB and receive regular sterling payments there. No charge from NIB for holding the account or receiving deposits.

Generally Anglo Irish and Investec offer the best rates for GBP savings accounts.

I suggest you ring them and others and choose the best rate.
