Should I register my company for VAT?

I have been on PAYE status since I move to Ireland 2001.
In June 2008 I set up a Limited Company which specialises in selling product over the internet.
However, I still have no trading history and I don’t know if I will succeed in this difficult economic time.

In general I want to keep my company going and keep all my paperwork updated. I would like to use ROS online system – do I first need to obtain and pin or password etc from the revenue office?

Of course I want to keep my expenses to a minimum as possible.

̵Should I register my company for VAT already? Is that done on ROS?
̵Should I pay any other TAX when there is no turnover or income, just only expenses?
Thanks

You should register the company for corporation tax as you are trading. You can down load a Tr2 forrm from the revenue website. They will them issue you with a tax number. Their seems no need to register for vat at present. Are you go to pay yourself-If you are you can register for paye/prsi on same form. By filing Ct1 you can have losses to use against future profits. Once you have tax number use ros website to set yourself up online.
