Hi all,
My girlfriend (now fiancee!!) and I are currently on holidays in Vancouver and we are almost definately buying an engagement ring and 2 x wedding bands here. The rings would take 3 weeks to be designed and made (by which time we will be back in Ireland).
I would appreciate any feedback / help on shipping the rings from Canada to Ireland - such as possible import duty, VAT, shipping costs - best shipping company to use, insurance on shipping etc.
Generally, the cost of the engagement ring is 6K canadian dollars with each of the bands being about 1k canadian dollars. Also, we need to pay 12% GST (tax) when purchasing which I believe we can claim back when sending to Ireland?? (Prices above do not include the 12% tax.
