When proceedings are issued by the District Court do the names/details of the parties involved become public information? Would the press, for example, have access to that information?

I don't think so - but I'm open to correction.

No-one bar Court staff would have access to the info. before a Court date. In the District Court, if proceedings are issued and a Notice of Intention to Defend is filed by a defendant, then the case will be called out in open court and anyone in the court room will hear it.

If the case goes to full hearing, then the hearing is open to members of the public including members of the press.
