Paying gas bill by direct debit for someone else

My daughter has been told by Bord Gais that it will cost her €200 deposit with direct debit or €400 deposit without direct debit to set up an account in her name for her new home. Can I set up a direct debit in my name for her flat and then she can repay me when bills arrive?

Unless Bord Gais require the account holder to be the one who pays .. then Yes.

As long as you sign the direct debit mandate, you're good to go.
