panda and electric ireland

My parents got a door to door caller asking them to move to electric ireland. They can't as in contract elsewhere.

The guy had a panda id and hi vis jacket. I am not aware of them having an affiliation with Electric Ireland. So when they explained they were in contract he asked about broadband and recommended Carphone Warehouse!

I'm assuming people are on commission across a range of utilities.

Most of the cold-callers aren't directly employed by the companies they're representing, so it is possible this person represented multiple utilities. It's also possible they were just fishing for financial details.
