Background info; Joint mortgage which previously had mortgage arrears going back a few years from when my husband wasn’t working and I was on reduced hours.
We had just agreed a restructure with PTSB when they sold our portfolio to Start mortgages. Unfortunately PTSB did not complete the restructure and Start advised they would have to restart the process with us. It took 15 months for them to finally complete the restructure and notify the ICB.
The last missed payment on our mortgage was in October 2018.
Our restructure was processed June 2020.
We ideally want to sell our home and clear the mortgage. We Would be looking to buy elsewhere but will we be able to get a small mortgage to aid this?
Is there a specific timeframe we have to wait?
The area we live in is getting very rundown and honestly it is not a safe area. My teenager has already been assaulted and I do not want my children to grow up fearful of leaving their home. it was never meant to be our forever home and the prices will start to drop drastically. I’m just looking for some advise if possible.
