I really appreciate any information/advice on the following:
I have been working as a sales agent for a company selling their (products to retail) for the last 18 months. I have encurred a lot of personal time and expense travelling around and opening new accounts for this company. Some of those new accounts are now ordering online and will continue to do so into the future.
Out of the blue the company has terminated my agency and said that they don't need me anymore. I have no contract in writing but I understand that when they payed me on invoicing, that it constitutes an 'agency contract'. They are only offering to pay me up to today's date on commission.
My question is, am I entitled to an extra compensation/lump sum payment now in lieu of the future sales that will be generated by the customers that I signed up?
