Lifetime guarantee

Does anybody know if the phrase 'lifetime guarantee' means anything?

Lifetime of the article: Big deal-- could be 1 day or 10 years;

My lifetime: Same guarantee for young and healthy as for old and decrepit person -- I don't think so.


I think it is meaningless or am I missing something?

Product -- I have seen items advertised 'guaranteed for life'
