Anything and everything is possible. But if you want to flitter away your money, use a Bank.

I don't think banks are authorised to trade. And they definitely don't have the systems or knowhow to trade.

The big banks here will do it but they will use a related broker, so without a stockbroker, no. Im not sure if any Irish banks offer online share dealing; its the norm in other countries.
You can go direct to a broker yourself or you can set up an online account with internet brokers (info on other threads). The latter is cheaper, especially if dealing in small amounts.
