Hi, am living in an duplex with apartment above me. I have contents insurance, and the mgmt company has block insurance, but the excess is massive.
Does anyone know of any companies that would insure the excess on the block policy?
I'm not aware of anyone in the market that will do this. Your best bet is to get the management company to shop around for alternatives as policy excesses can vary massively between insurers.
These days a standard excess starts at about €1,000 for standard claims but goes up for water damage claims. Too many small claims resulting from leaks on new apartment builds tend to push them up.
