Hi there, hope someone can help with this query.

My Mother passed away last year and we are in the process of sorting out her estate - currently in probate.

The insurance on her house is due for renewal soon and the current insurance company won't renew it in my Mothers name, as she is deceased, nor will they renew it in name of "reps of the late...." or similar - instead, they insist in renewing it in a living persons name, who owns the house. As nobody owns the house as such how am I to organise house insurance whn the current isurance runs out?
Any advice appreciated.

Insure it in the name of "post-it's real name, executor of the estate of late mother's name" with the address unchanged. Maybe try a broker as if the tele-centre staff go into brain-dead "but the computer won't let me" mode.

The costs associated with this are recoverable from the estate as valid executor expenses if you have to pay the premium out of your own pocket.
