What are the typical fees for employing the services of an insurance assessor for a home insurance claim?

Is it a percentage of the claim or a flat rate? thanks
 
Hi I am a loss assessor and I charge 10% plus VAT at 21.5%
The fee is based on the settlement acheived.
If the claim is over €20,000 a sliding scale is used (downwards) and is discussed in advance with a client.
There are no other charges and if the loss assessor is not successful in settling a claim no fee applies.
