If there is any form of criminal proceedings taking place in relation to the death eg fatal accident where another driver may be prosecuted for dangerous driving causing death, the inquest will not take place until the criminal prosecution is complete. Other than that I don't think there is a specific time wait but would just depend like all other courts how may inquests are to take place and also if a jury is required this may add slight delay.
