fluorescent lights not starting properly

I recently bought several of [broken link removed] to replace dead ones in my new house. They worked fine for a few days, but now some of them are taking ages to light up - nothing at all for a minute or more after being switched on, then some flickering, then finally lighting. Do you think it's a fault in the bulbs or somehow a problem with the starters(?) could have been precipitated by the new bulbs, or something else. (Clueless about electrical stuff.)

Try replacing or re-seating the starter.

Make sure it's the correct one for the tube.

An incorrect / faulty starter will cause this type of problem
