Enforcement Notice on commercial premises

Not sure if this is the right section to be posting this in so sorry if not.

I need clarification on enforcement notices, is there any leeway with these or are you out on that date no matter what? Can you buy time by applying for a retention of use or would this have been done before the enforcement notice was sent?

Need these answers in relation to a commercial premsises where there has been an objection put in against the business and the powers that be have sent an enforcement notice.
