Dropshipping???

Hi. I'm running a dropshipping ecommerce store. I act as the middle-man, take payment and pay our supplier. The supplier ships to the customer. The supplier is based in China. We don't sell to Irish customers. All our sales are from USA and UK. Do i need to register as self-employed? Will i be liable for tax/vat?

Tax and VAT for eCommerce is a bit of a nightmare, or certainly was a nightmare last time I was involved a few years back. Some of the tax law depended on the physical location of the servers executing the transactions at that stage, which can be tricky in the world of cloud computing.

You might need to get and pay for professional advice on this, but make sure you find an advisor who understands eCommerce.
