I have recently received a site from my dad & got planning permission, beside this is a small plot of land maybe a quarter of an acre with a house which has been derelict for years. In some places of my site the boundary walls are knocked. My father has grazed cattle for years on this land with freedom to roam between the two. At the moment I am trying to find out via my solicitor who owns the land.
What position do I stand in if I cant locate any one in connection with this site? A neighbour told me they emmigrated to America a long time ago. If I were to claim squatters rights what is the procedure is this a long drawn out process? I appreciate any advice on this.
