Cresit card transaction fees for non euro purchases

Hi,

When you look at the exchange rates between the uk and euro does this factor in the fee visa charge for non-euro transactions of 1.75% or is this charged on top of the exchange rate? I looked at visa website and they recommend you go to www.xe.com for the rates they charge, but doesn't specify when the fee is applied to which balance euro or sterling price!

Can companies in the north charge in euro's or do they have to charge you bill in sterling if using a visa card?

Some companies give you the option to pay in either Euros or Sterling. I've been asked a few times.

That charge is on top of the bill.
