Just in case i am missing someone, i am covering contents in an apartment (say 40K) but then also have circa 70k worth of items to insure all risk, jewellery and watches.

Most insurers cant even quote, currently insured (it seems reluctantly) by axa via aib, anyone in a similar situation and can recommend a good insurer?

You need to increase your standard contents amount. A lot of insurers that will quote you online, their system will just reject it as the all risks are disproportionate.

A lot just wont do that limit anyway. you need to look and see if there are small items you can moved to unspecified as opposed to specified.

Perhaps you need to consult a broker, who might be able to help. €40K of tenants contents together with €70K all risks does not look proper to a prudent underwriter. If you go to a broker, he would know specialist markets that may be able to assist you. You will probably need some documentation for the contents to verify/confirm the values.

Thanks we are the Owners not tenants but don't think it makes any odds as all we can insure is contents as there is common building insurance

Also not an option to move any item to unspecified due to the single item limit

Thanks for advice so far

We've an apartment in Dublin and the contents of our son who lives there are Insured under the contents part. Items include Computer, Watch and Cash as well as other items in property. As already mentioned, you need to find a decent broker.

If you are based Ground Floor, it's unlikely you will receive a quote.

Thanks as mentioned I'm already insured its just stupidly expensive and it's hard to get competing quotes. I'm trying to insure 7 items and the lowest value one is 6k so that's where my issue lies
