Concrete precast 1st floor

I've always thought that to have a concrete precast floor upstairs the internal wall would have to be a block on flat but I have been informed that due to the span of my house the block does not need to be flat, is this true?

Your Engineer/Architect will advise you here.
Yes many houses are designed with internal wall on the edge and block on flat where two slabs meet say in the middle of the house. Currently building a house and have instructed my architect to provide drawings with blocks on the flat even though a block on the side would suffice.
Thats just my personal choice.
Please note that where the slabs rest on the block for air tightness the hollowcore will need to be wrapped for air tightness. Have a look on Boards.ie.
Good luck with your build.

Cheers for the reply, I'll take that I won't need any so since I'll be pouring the upstairs floor so it will be one full solid slab....
