I have to employ a carer for a completely incapacitated parent living in another EU country. I have considered the option of moving him to Ireland but in the condition he is - well, will require a gofundme just for the trip. Can I claim tax relief? I would go through an agency to employ the carer.
From what is written in citizensinformation it may be possible, but Form HK1 requires a Employer PAYE Registration No. that is an Irish ID (there are equivalent in EU, but of course each country is different). Any help/advice really appreciated, the last thing I want in this situation is getting into troubles with the taxman but a tax relief would make a big difference.
