Checking for a Director's previous company windups and unpaid debts

Hi,

I have been told that in the past, a particular individual was a director of a company. He had a lot of building labour work done through this company, and then wound it up leaving the people unpaid, whilst two other of his companies took the benefit of the work done for free. I know there was a subsequent pursuit of him by the Revenue over the wound up company.

I do not have the name of the company, but I have the director's name, address, and approximate idea of the time frame when this happened.

How do I go about finding the name of his past comapnies, and the getting information on the extent to which the workmen etc were ripped off?

It has a facility to search by director name.
