Change conveyancing solicitor when title deed signed?

I've had my fill of the solicitor who did the conveyancing work for my house. I'm due to sign the title deed tomorrow.
I don't want to leave the file in his posession. Can I have it moved to someone else now and how do I arrange this?

Selling or buying?

It probably is much more trouble than its worth at this stage - whether you are buying or selling, there will be a huge tangle of "undertakings" (i.e. personal guarantees by the solicitor to do certain things) that a new solicitor will have to investigate/take over. As against that, if the solicitor is truly incompetent, it may be worth moving no matter how much it costs.

Thanks MF1, I've spoken to another solicitor just now and she has advised me similarly. I may ask her to recheck the title deed when complete.
Many thanks.
