Buying ISEQ 20 Index funds

Hi Sabs,

Lets bury some of the misconceptions that are being floated on the site.

The ISEQ 20 ETF is an exchange traded fund that is listed and trades on the Irish Stock Exchange "ISE". Its shares can be purchased and sold like any other equity that trades on the ISE. Shares csan be bought through your bank or and stock brokers (The Financial Regulator has carried out and survey on the different stockbroker charges and this is worth checking out)
The fund is comprised of twenty leading Irish companies so your one share gives you exposure to these 20 companies. (The fund itself is "managed" by NCB, but given that it tracks a basket of shares there is little or none management involved and hence the reduced management fee.)

To the bigger picutre and is now a good time to invest in the ISEQ ETF? To be honest I don't see the ISEQ reaching the heady heights of 10,000 for quite some time. International investors have been dumping Irish shares for a number of months now believing that the Irish property based boom is over. If the professionals are woried about Irish share values then we all should.

Keep your money in your pocket for the moment.
