Hi, I am off to NY in a couple of weeks and was wondering if a cirrus BOI card will work over there. I haven't got a visa card but could borrow one and put money on it, if it is considered the best and cheapest method of paying for things over there.

Cirrus cards will work in most major banks in almost all cities, and even towns, in the US. Leave the credit card out of it - if you don't put in enough cash to cover your withdrawal, you'll be charged interest. Enjoy the hol.
