I "slipped" a few hydrangeas mid to late August and each failed to root. Mrs Matt got one of her brainwaves once the "slipped" stems failed to produce roots and died:- 1. Once you've slipped your hydrangea stems please root half in water for 20 mins.
2. Rub root end of stem with a little honey.
3. Insert stem in composted pot.
4. Four/five weeks later buds start to produce green growth.

And from Dealz @ €1.50 per packet you can buy a supply of bedding flower seeds including Petunias, Sweet William etc

It works 100% - I will transplant to larger pots during next Spring.

If anybody else has any gardening tips please post.
