Made an enquiry by email re buying some of the above online in Germany and the first question back was:

"Can I ask if you would like to buy them privately from [ our Irish supplier] or will they be supplied by the HSE through a public health nurse? "

Which prompts the question in the title.

Any pointers/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks as always

Hi no experience but I'm sure if you ask your doc or specialists nurse they should be able to guide you in the right direction best of luck

I am aware of an elderly relative who needs these pads. She has a medical card and the pads are made available for regular collection at a HSE distribution point. My understanding is that if the user holds a medical card these items will be supplied free of charge. If not they must be paid for but will come under the prescription scheme re limited monthly charge. Check this with your pharmacist!

Contact the HSE, they should be able to get them for free if they are on a medical card. They normally send them out once a month or when required.

Thanks for replies, there is no medical card. The non branded ones are pretty cheap so we will press on, hopefully as the issue is surgery related, it will improve/cease in time.
