18. Reduction of Air Travel Tax to 0% The rate of the Air Travel Tax will be reduced to 0% from 1 April 2014. The Air Travel Tax was introduced in March 2011 and since then a general rate of €3 has applied. Target: To encourage the development of new routes leading to increased capacity and traffic flows. This increase in routes and therefore in passengers should lead to the creation of additional jobs.
