Hi
Any of you know when AIB are initiating a current account type mortgage option.. I.E. like first active etc..
I herd that it was on the cards????

AIB or BOI are unlikely to offer current account mortgages anytime soon. They have huge market share and make a lot of money from the existing set-up.
As there is less money to be made with these accounts, only the smaller Banks who are currently trying to win market share are likely to offer these.

Unless AIB and BOI begin to lose significant market share I would not be expecting any such changes. This is unlikeky in the near future due to the reluctance of people to move banks.

my local manager told me some months ago that he had heard this was on the cards, but did not know any specific details.

I have been with AIB for 18 years but NIB are offering a much better package on their offset mortgage.

First thing Monday the wife and I will be switching to NIB.

Sorry AIB. I feel kind of guilty about it, but hey, if you hadn't lost me money on my PIP maybe it could have been different...
