I have an apartment in Budapest which I purchased in 2006. I tried renting it but by the time everything was paid I had practically nothing out of it. I put the apartment up for sale and I have a buyer. I would brake even if the currency was at €1 to 250huf but now the currency is heading for the 300 mark and getting worse.

My plan is sell the apartment and put my money into a deposit account I can get these rates from Cib bank

3 months 11,00% 6 months 10,00%
12 months 9,00%
18 months 10,00%

I was thinking of leaving the money in an account, earning interest and until the currency appreciates to a level that I can convert it back to euro.

Can anyone give me advice if I am doing the right or wrong here.

It's your call at the end of the day, but I'd be inclined to take a bet on the currency and lodge it to the highest interest account you can get over 6 months and review then. It's an entirely personal decision though, and nopbody can really give you good advice on it.
