We moved into our newly built house in November 2004. Now in process of selling and have had awful trouble with the map not matching whats on the ground, and so needing a deed of rectification.

Through this we have found out that we are not yet the registered owners, that in fact the original builder is still the registered owner. Thankfully we have the receipt of maney paid to our solicitor in 2004 for the registration.

The sale of our house is hanging by a thread. We are stressed out trying to get the deed of rectification sorted and now this.

I have to say though that The Land Registry people have been fantastic and very helpful.

The whole experience has and still is a nightmare. The original solicitor we had when buying in 2004 has since retired and the one we are with now in the same practice is so slow and dis-interested that its unreal.

Now it seems the original map that was sent in is missing and solicitor doesn't know where it is. I'm terrified of our buyers pulling out, in fairness they have waited months on this.
