€300k savings - where to put it?

I have moved from the UK and am looking to bring €300k to Ireland and want somewhere to put it for 12 months before I buy a house. I am retired so not paying income tax. Any recommendations on accounts etc? My wife is a high rate taxpayer so I'm assuming keeping the account)s) in my name is best.

That gives me all the information I need. In England, there are several comparison sites and a lot of choice between providers and products. It's a bit different here so your thread is extremely helpful.

There is a much bigger population so there is much more competition for savings

The Irish market is too small for big players to be interested- not just in banking
