HDMI cable for Laptop connection to Plasma TV?

Hi guys

Recently bought a Plasma TV and I am interested in hooking up my laptop to it. Both have HDMI connections but I was wondering if I need a certain type of HDMI cable or are they all the same?

I think they're much of a muchness. You want the cable with hdmi-hdmi. I got one on ebay for my ps3 last year, gold plated ones (if that does anything!). Much cheaper than any store.
 
Get the cheapest one you can, over a few metres it makes no difference. I got one for 9.99 in Lidl a while back, no issues.
 
Yes do not waste your money on gold plated super-duper versions. They are digital cables so they are all the same. One for a fiver is the exact same as those over a €100...

Check in Tesco or Powercity for cheap ones...
 
Thanks for the help - picked up a pair of gold plated ones on eBay for €10!

Anybody know where I can pick up a good set of Scart Cables to hook up the TV to the NTL digital box. Only have the bog standard ones at the moment and really want better picture quality!
 
got a hdmi cable for my ps3 (blue ray player;)) on amazon sunday for 1p!! cost me 3euro with delivery....not bad
