Mira Elite St Showers

Hi, We're thinking of buying a new electric shower, specifically the Mira Elite ST, has it as a pump, our water supply pressure is fairly low 2-3 PSI, and I see on the Mira installation instructions, it shows the shower fed from the cold water header tank, would it be possible to connect direct to the cold water supply. Any thoughts about this?

If your mains pressure is only 3 PSI (0.2 Bar) why would you want to connect to it? You will have a more consistent pressure from your cw storage tank.

I am not aware of the particulars for that exact shower, but electric showers are generally made specifically for either gravity feed or mains pressure, such as the Triton T90 (Gravity) and the Triton T80 (Mains).

From the Elite ST spec, it seems to be just for gravity feed. You should give their tech department a call to clarify (01 - 459 1344).

Elite ST is a gravity fed from tank model only.
We have 2 of them in our house installed last year.

I've just moved into a new build and the shower (mira elite st) has died after only 3 months. I'm disgusted.

The house was build 2 years ago and the shower fitted then so its now out of warranty even though I'm only 3 months using it. I got the official guy out to fix it for 100e and its fine now but I'm really not impressed that after only 3 months use that its broken.
I mailed head office in Dublin to inform them of the quality of the product and they basically told me it was out of warranty, and good luck.

They're correct of course, it is indeed out of warranty but surely to goodness it should be fit for purpose or something?

It was the solenoid and/or the one way flow valve - I think i have that straight - It wasn't a big job for the plumber, he had it done in 30mins - and to be honest, 100e isn't the end of the world - I'm more annoyed that a 300e shower lasted me 3 months and they just told me to take a hike.

The warranty is in addition to your statutory rights. Check out the NCA website for more details. Your contract here is with the builder though, not with Mira.
