NTL H&S Issue

Anyone know the health & safety issue concerning NTLs phone supply in Dublin? I have NTL TV and was wondering if I should continue with the service. No spokesperson for NTL was available for 5 7 Live.
 
NTL have pulled their phone service for Dublin 6 and Dublin 24.

This is ostensibly because of a fire risk involving some of their equipment. Word on the street is that they want to exit this buisness and the H&S isssue is just a diversion.

Users in South Dublin have been advised to switch off their equipment. Users are worried that they will not be able to carry their number with them to a new provider among other things.
