Summer 2010 Childminding Rates Dublin

Hi Folks,

My children's creche is closing for the summer and I need to pay a babysitter/childminder. I have 2 children (age 4 and 7). I'm wondering what is the normal hourly/weekly rate?

My sister just agreed to mind an 8 month old for 4 hours a week (2 days * 2 hours) while mother goes to the gym - the rate she was offered is €10 an hour. This is also the rate another sister gets for night babysitting €10 an hour. But for 2 children for full time week I don't know the going rate. Your local supermarket notice board would have ads with people offering childminding so ring a few and see the rate.
