Vienna vs Milan

Looking towards next Valentines, I've whittled it down to Vienna or Milan. Just wondering if anyone can recommend one over the other. It'll be for a Friday-to-Sunday stint probably the weekend or two before V day itself.

I think you should go for Vienna ... Milan is a very functional business city and not as pretty as Vienna, apart from duomo, sforza castello, la scala... depends on what you want though.... i suppose if you're a fashion afficionado there's only one choice and it's not Vienna.

If you go for Milan, Ticinese, south of the centre, is the spot to go for eats. Not much in the centre except business district.

I've never been to Milan - having been put off by numerous comments similar to Gearoid's.

As for Vienna, this means nothing to me.

Been to both & have no urge to return to either.

Neither would be top of my list even if I had a free trip.

I'd just head straight for Venice myself, far more romantic if thats what your after (althoguh a quick 30 minute boat ride, being drive by a fella with a bit stick will cost you circa €125 )

Vienna & Venice are often offered as a joint package so might be worth considering.

Millan is not worthy of consideration in my own view, unless you either have a specific business meeting there, or want to go see their local footie teams playing
