This is the tracking for a package from Apple Store to me in Laois.
It seems that UPS are taking the mickey and just don't want to deliver to me. I told them the directions from the nearest town (5km away) on 19/07 and I also gave them the same details on Friday and Monday (today). I even gave them my mobile number. It seems that UPS just don't care and/or the driver simple can't be bothered to telephone or make any attempt to deliver. They will not escalate my complaint either.

Where can I take this? What is the best way to deal with incompentants like this?

Not sure. Never had must fun with courier companies. There seems to be little common sense or logic to how they operate.

IMO. The best way to get your package of often redirect it to a better known address or collect it from the nearest depot yourself.

Crikey, looks like your package was being used as a test item for their track and trace system! Ring their HO here in Dublin and ask to speak to their operations director.

when i was living in laois, packages that had arrived no problem from amazon through an post suddenly couldn't be delivered when amazon switched to ups/dhl (not sure which). i think you should contact apple and inform them of the incompetence of ups and ask them to start using an post. do you have a work address that might make it easier for them to deliver to? not ideal and you shouldn't have to of course, but it might solve the immediate problem.

i've had a problem with apple, everytime i put portarlington in as my address it says its wrong and put in portlaoise, i had to ring twice to have it sorted.

oh and i know the driver that covers the two areas above and have found him good ( perhaps he is being given the wrong info by the office )

Happens to me all the time. Last time they "tried" to deliver it to me and said they could not find me, so sent it back to the depot. Never even tried to ring me. Left it sittin in the depot for a week, and said that they were trying to get my phone number from the supplier. Took a week to do that I said ? And only reson they got hold of me was cos I spent 2 days trying to track where the parcel was.

Never get any satisfaction from couriers, be they small local or large multinational ones. I think they are just alzy, or esle figure its cheaper to "pretend" the could not find you so you have to pick it up yourself.

Any idea who this mythical guy is?

I rang apple and nice and all that they were all they will do is refund the shipping. They won't do anything else. Sucks really.

Well if you go your shipping refunded, then you probably got as far as you can. Well done on that by the way, and to apple, at least they acknowledged the problem. Still and all, its bloody frustrating knowing that it will probably happen again next time you get seomthing delivered. Roll on post codes, gives lazy couriers no excuses!!

I think his name is Frank...white haired guy about 60.

ring Apple again and tell them your'e not happy.they should be able to sort it for you asap

Try calling this number and ask them to be put through to the office of the Operations Director or the Depot Manager. Sorry don't have a name...Just be pushy!

OP did you get your delivery yet, did you complain to the operations manager, how did it go, curious.

Sorry, I forgot all about the thread, busy atm with house repairs. :(

Anyways, in the end I had to complain to the operations manager who was genuinely upset with what I had experienced. What had happened was that they had never put my package on the correct van (they didn't know where Rathdowney was, and the regular driver was on holidays) so I was promised my delivery the next day. The next day the regular driver (back from his well earned break) delivered to me no problems, he was upset that I was messed around as he has been to my place hundreds of times. Operations manager called that day to confirm delivery and again apologised.

Apple refunded the delivery charge so It turned out well in the end.
