Did the 15 year old Quinn Life freeway funds (now Irish Life) get the .5% AMC loyalty reduction

Customer interface is clunky and very little info for these funds within the IL portal..always been difficult to get info on funds they now track etc...agree with earlier comments, seems to be the staff aren't familiar with the older QL funds and how they operate.

See pdf attached in Post#16. Says the 10% overpayment facility is still available. Looks like good news on that front

    ECB ups rate by 0.75%

ECB increase kicks in Sept 14th so give it a week or two to see any shifting from lenders on fixed or SVR

How long does it take to Re-fix with UB

Once youve requested the break fee from them, give it a few days and ring them. The break fee amount will be on the system and they can tell you it over the phone . My letter was a week or more arriving..one time it never arrived..

    70%-100% Increase in Mortgage rates

Seems now with Avant pushing their rates up as per Brendan's thread that their borrowing costs have gone up, with their 10 year jumping 1% which is a significant hike..assume impact of ECB 0.5% hike and others to follow? How much more to follow? As BOI stated that the July ECB increase wouldn't...

Key Post Switch or re-fix my mortgage? Breakage fee calculator and savings estimates for your case (Ireland)

@Paul F....Record speed from UB on letter generation and delivery. Break fee calculated as €150.50. Decision maybe based on what happens with ECB over the next week. Switching to an UB rate would be pretty instant compared to waiting for Avant full switch should rates jump significantly over the...

So million dollar question is what is the magic term people will be fixing for now? 5, 7, 10, 20 years.... what's being priced in or not.....crystal ball time for many..will a 3 year fixed cover increase rates and they drop again after, will someone need to go out to 10 years to bypass the rate...

Avant Money to pay €1,500 switching fee to Ulster and KBC customers in Q1

Took the additional 16 weeks unpaid maternity leave after the 26 weeks paid leave (plus then annual leave etc.. makes it longer than 16 weeks in reality)

Avant Money to pay €1,500 switching fee to Ulster and KBC customers in Q1

Any idea how Avant/Brokers deal with partner being on maternity leave from civil service job? i.e. no income/pay slips for past 6 months but it's a civil service job, so clear pay scale and secure position and when back next month back to standard salary.

My press release on the CCPC Phase 2 Investigation into BoI takeover of KBC

Looks like end 2022 date planned for KBC->BOI from their committee comments. UB won't be any time soon I'd guess if no progress so far on their purchaser/transfer so far. https://www.independent.ie/business/personal-finance/banking/kbc-accounts-to-move-to-bank-of-ireland-by-end-2022-41108694.html

    Switching timelines

Currently have a 4 year 2.6% UB fixed rate which will expire in Sept 2022. Break fee when last quoted was 2.5k last year. Planning a fair bit ahead here…Looking at where UB might end up and the current rates available from Avant, they would be a preferable switch. Question is more of timing and...

Ulster Bank before the Finance Committee today at 4 pm

The format of front loading with all TDs questions just doesn’t work, so many questions go unanswered. Also as usual, TD questions are wrapped up in a statement, taking up valuable time. Didn’t learn much from the appearance I felt...?

Case Study: Internal Mortgage Switch UB

Just wondered if they disclosed the wholesale rate for ones mortgage. Guess it’s a case of working out myself to see the rate and then figure when would be a good time to break if ever. I’ll request my numbers to see.

Why don't Credit Unions reduce interest rates to get more business?

Thanks RedOnion, big eye opener in your link-shows the CU advertising worked on me! ...like many things in Irish finance, scratch the surface into T&C/regs and many truths revealed!!

Why don't Credit Unions reduce interest rates to get more business?

Yeap, but not all are penalty free for doing so I thought? Aren’t CUs penalty free? Still not a game changer for the extra costs.

Why don't Credit Unions reduce interest rates to get more business?

A few people with CU loans I know, like the ability to pay back the loan early and extras life death benefits/insurance...is it worth the extra few % on the loan, probably not to most people but some like the sound of the extras..Also I think many still trade on the community aspect and word of...
